Having identified a specific need in the health sector, Victoria.NET has established a Special Interest Group (SIG) for Health that brings together a number of Victoria.NET members that offer specialised IT products and solutions in the health sector.  The members of the Victoria.NET Health SIG, although from a wide variety of backgrounds, all offer best of breed solutions.  As a group, the Victoria.NET Health SIG aims to deliver collaborative IT solutions.

Victoria.NET Health SIG Member competencies include:

Technology Management

• Technology consulting, including Health IT Consulting, IT Strategy, Security, Technology Benefit Realisation
• A comprehensive set of services to manage information and communications technology, covering network, servers and desktops
• A number of specialised system and data integration solutions to reduce double data entry and time consuming report processes by allowing systems to seamlessly share information, thereby making information available across multiple systems.
• Form content management solutions, enabling hospitals to efficiently capture and manage form content, and create and manage form based records online

Clinical Applications

• A range of bed monitoring and management systems that use PAS, PIMS or Homer information to improve the monitoring and allocation of beds within hospitals
• “Patient Care Manager”, a nursing clinical information system that has been designed to operate in a web environment, allowing the nurse to access patient information either at the nursing station or at the bedside
• “Patient Browser” that can act as a central core environment for clinicians.  Patient Browser provides a single sign-on, permitting secure and controlled access to information from diverse underlying systems through a “Virtual Repository”. The middleware component can communicate with almost any existing clinical system
• “Discharge Summary Manager”, a general patient discharge summary management environment that has been designed to operate in a web environment, using a standard web browser
• Data warehousing solutions that provide access to validated information from a number of sources, including inpatient, outpatient, theatre episodes, theatre analysis, billing, transactions, and many more.  Information can be viewed by standard presentation tools such as MS Report Services, Crystal, Cognos, etc 
• Aggregated patient data reports to improve communication and understanding of patient conditions and management.  These reports identify opportunities for improved clinical efficiency, effectiveness and cost management, and provide enhanced quality of individual patient care
• A comprehensive referral process for managing the care of patients once they have left the acute facility, providing relevant information to those carers who provide services in the community, including GPs RDNS, Physiotherapists, etc

Organisational Management

• A full range of asset management systems, including asset and facility management, computerised maintenance management, and lifecycle asset management
