nSynergy – Winner of the 2005 Consensus Software Award, & 2005 Microsoft Global Export Potential Award

The Gala Dinner for the 2005 Consensus Software Awards was held in Sydney on the 21st of April.  More than 260 Australian companies were competing for the annual award, with 25 finalists nominated.

The Consensus Awards are now in its sixth year and are Australia’s only independently judged awards for Australian designed and developed software. The awards aim to reward excellence in software design and to grow and strengthen software development in Australia. The awards are based on an open nomination process, with individuals and/or organisations nominating companies to be put before the Consensus judging panel. This year’s awards were judged over two days by an expert panel comprising of industry representatives, including Managing Directors, Business Consultants, Public Relations Specialists, and IT Managers.  For entrants to be considered as an award winner, they needed to score high in each of the three judging criteria – innovation, performance and potential.

The Consensus Award was presented to nSynergy by the Minister for Communications and Information Technology and the Arts, Hon. Senator Helen Coonan.

In a statement from the Australian Prime Minister, the Hon. John Howard praised the Consensus Software Awards winners as a testament “to the quality of Australian software and web developers, the strength of their ideas and their willingness to embrace innovation. The Consensus Software Awards are to be commended for encouraging and promoting excellence in software design. I wish all of this year’s winners and finalists every success in the future.”

nSynergy International are an Australian based software company, and their software application ‘LegalNet®’ has seen the company become a worldwide leader in providing integrated matter management solutions for corporate legal departments. LegalNet enables the corporate legal department within an organisation to collaborate with their external law firms in real time. This allows both parties to share information, work on documents and analyse financial data all in a secure environment through the use of Web Services and Peer-to-Peer (P2P) technology. This collaborative environment is unique to the industry as it not only provides a comprehensive matter management tool for the corporate legal department, but it also provides the panel firms with a competitive edge as they can offer unrivaled levels of service to their corporate clients.

nSynergy International was short listed along with 24 other leading Australian software companies for the awards and were thrilled to be a winner on the evening. Karl Redenbach, nSynergy’s Director of Business Development said “this is fantastic recognition for all the hard work that has gone into LegalNet over the last 3 years. I would like to thank all the staff both here and abroad, we couldn’t have done it without your dedication and support. A big thank you has to go out to Microsoft also for nominating us for the award in the first place and making this night possible”

The most significant award presented on the evening was the Microsoft Global Export Potential Award (MGEPA) which nSynergy also won.

The MGEPA was presented to nSynergy by Norbert Haehnel, Director, Developer and Platform Strategy Group, Microsoft. Redenbach who accepted nSynergy’s second award for the evening was delighted to take out the prestigious award. “We have always had a very close working relationship with Microsoft and are very grateful for this award. When the company first commenced we started off as a ‘Registered Partner’, then we joined the ‘Empower Program’, and quickly became a ‘Certified Partner’.
The relationship and the support we have received from them has allowed us very rapidly to expand our business”.

“I would also like to thank Telstra who have been great supporters of LegalNet over the years and who continue to assist us with our marketing and business development. I would like to thank our Government partners as well, in particular our association with initiatives such as the Victorian .Net Connected Program, Austrade, as well as the Australian Federal Government Research and Development assistance. The support we have received from you all has been instrumental to our success”.
